  • Post-graduate degree in Archaeology obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
  • Have about one year experience of organization on the post not below the rank of Technical Assistant, class III in the subordinate service of the Directorate of Archaeology and Museum, Gujarat State.

How To Apply

  1. The One Time Registration (OTR) module only helps to candidates for filling Online Application speadily, which will not count as an Online Application.
  2. Candidates shall carefully read Advertisement No. and name of post before applying online. Candidate shall confirm the application only after verifying the details filled in the application form.
  3. The online application is “Editable” till the last date & time of advertisement. Hence the candidates are requested to submit only one application for each advertisement. If there are any mistakes in filling up the details / information in the online application, go to the”Edit” option and update the details till the last date & time of Application. Do not make a new application
  4. Any request or representation to correct any error or omission in the confirmed online application or information filled in by the candidate shall not be accepted, once the online advertisement is closed.
  5. Candidates are requested not to send physical copy of the application to the Commission as of now. Candidates qualified for application scrutiny only have to upload their required Certificates/Documents online on Commission’s website https://gpsc-iass.gujarat.gov.in/ within the stipuled time duration as mentioned in the provisional result. Those candidates who send their required Certificates/ Documents Physically or By Post to the Commission are automatically ineligible for the further recruitment process.

General Note

    1. Exam Pattern: Candidates will be selected for appointment to these posts by conducting a Preliminary test and interview. Candidates will be declared eligible for the interview after scrutinizing the required applications as per the Preliminary test marks. If the candidate gets less than 15% marks in the Preliminary test, he/she will not be considered eligible for interview. The medium of this test will be decided by the Commission. The Preliminary test will usually be held at Gandhinagar/ Ahmedabad and candidates will have to be present at their own expense. The Preliminary test will consist of 100 questions of 100 marks of General Studies and 200 questions of 200 marks of the Respective Subject.Total 300 questions of 300 marks. Time Duration of Preliminary test will be 180 minutes.
    2. The Weighted Marks of Preliminary Test & Interview are calculated as follows: ‐ [Marks obtained in P.T. X 50/300 = Weighted Marks of Preliminary Test] + [Marks obtained in Interview X 50/100 = Weighted Marks of Interview] = Total Weighted Marks.
    3. The syllabus of a Preliminary Test for various posts are available on the Commission’s website http://gpsc.gujarat.gov.in.
    4. Candidates shall remain present at each stage of Recruitment process, otherwise his/her candidature shall be cancelled.
    5. Application Fees: – Candidates of General (Unreserved) category have to pay Rs. 100/- +applicable postal charges or Rs. 100/- + Service Charges through online mode as Application Fees. While Candidates belonging to reserved categories and Economically Weaker Section of Unreserved category of Gujarat State, Ex-Servicemen and physically disabled candidates have not to pay application fees. While candidates of reserved category of other states have to pay application fee.
    6. Candidates have to pay the following fees as deposit for consent form as may be required by the Commission. Candidates who appear in the examination after paying the prescribed fee along with the consent form will be refunded this fee. This fee will be charged as a deposit only.
